The Friendship Project for Children is a Warwickshire based charity supporting disadvantaged children. Our charity number is 517684. We are also registered as a Data Controller under the Data Protection Act 1998 (registration no ZA230554). This privacy policy will tell you how we use any personal information we collect about you.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about volunteers, or when a child is registered with us.

How will we use the information about you?

We will not share the information that we have about you with anyone else, apart from with the person that has referred you to us if we need to. We may also share with people who are allowed to ask for this information. If we use your information in case studies we’ll change your name. We contact people via telephone, email, social media and post.

We will keep the volunteer and child information in secure storage and on our secure database for up to 50 years (because our insurers say we have to).

If you post or send any information that we believe to be inappropriate we may use your personal information to inform relevant people such as your internet provider or police.

Access to your information and correction

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to remove or correct information that you think in inaccurate.

A tracking cookie is a file that a computer stores on a user’s machine and that is used to track a your activity online. We do not use tracking cookies

We will regularly look at our Privacy Policy and will place any changes on our website and also update our Guidelines booklet that we give to volunteers.
